Our resident nurse is on duty from 8:00am to 5:00pm and is happy to take care of you, even to treat a minor sunburn. Her services are complimentary but there is a charge for medication and doctor's consultations should those be necessary.
Dress Code
Casual wear such as shorts, tank tops, swim suits, short-sleeved shirts, sundresses and light slacks are the perfect day-wear fashion at Sandals. At night we become "casually elegant." Proper attire is required at dinner seatings. Elegant dress shorts are permitted in some restaurants.

Appleton Rum / Black River Safari
Visit the famous Appleton Estate and learn how rum is made. Taste the different varieties and tickle your palate, after which a sumptuous local lunch is served. Go back in history and see how the cane juice was extracted from the sugar cane in the 18th Century. Then on to the historic town of Black River for a boat ride along the river of the same name to visit the crocodiles and other wildlife.

Appleton Rum Tour
This tour gives you an inside look at the rum-making process. Visitors watch as the resident donkey demonstrates how the juice was extracted from sugar cane in the 18th Century. From there the tour takes visitors through the distillery and aging house where the different methods of distillation are shown. You are able to sample a variety of rums.

Black River Safari
A one hour boat tour through what is Jamaica's largest wetland area, the Black River Lower Morass. Our tour takes you four miles upriver and returns. A running commentary is given by our Captain on the ecology and history of the area. Many of the 100 species of birds in the morass, as well as the unusual wetland vegetation, are seen during your trip. The endangered American crocodile inhabits this area and sightings are very frequent. Minimum 4
